Dear Residents,
Due to current and expected weather conditions, we want to share an important safety reminder.
We have recently had reports of residents slipping and falling while attempting to travel and traveling to pick up essential items such as water, food, drinks, and other necessities. With surfaces becoming increasingly slick and conditions potentially worsening, we want to reduce the need for anyone to go out unless absolutely necessary.
To help keep everyone safe, Rockahock Campground will be offering limited errand assistance for residents who need essential supplies, including water, basic groceries, drinks, and necessary medications.
We have a 4-wheel-drive truck and a driver available who is willing to help by picking up essential items for residents during unsafe conditions.
Important details:
- No charge for the pickup service.
- Time and availability will be limited and handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- This service is intended for essential needs only while conditions are hazardous.
- Residents are responsible for the cost of items purchased (a receipt will be provided).
- We highly suggest residents place an advanced order whenever possible (online or phone order for pickup). This keeps the driver’s time on the road limited and allows for quick pickups only.
Grocery Pickup Option: Food Lion (Online Order Required) https://stores.foodlion.com/va/providence-forge/9030-pocahantos-trail
Starting tomorrow, Friday, January 30, if you would like groceries from Food Lion, you must:
- Shop online and place your order before 12:00 PM (noon)
- Rockahock (RCI) will plan to pick up orders around 3:00 PM that same day
Important: Please make sure you select the correct Food Lion location when placing your order so we are able to pick it up successfully. (Providence Forge Location)
Alternate Option: Walmart Delivery (RCI Can Bring It to Your Door)
Another alternative is Walmart delivery. Walmart delivers to the mailroom at the front store. Use 1428 Outpost Road, Lanexa VA, 23089 for delivery. Delivery instructions should be: “Deliver to mailroom with red door, at the front office”. If you choose Walmart delivery:
- Please notify the office when your delivery is scheduled or has arrived
- RCI can run the truck and deliver your Walmart order from the mailroom to your door
How to request assistance / coordinate pickup:
Please contact the office at (804) 966-8362 during 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with:
- Your name and site number
- Which option you’re using (Food Lion pickup or Walmart delivery)
- Any needed order details (order name/number, pickup time frame, etc.)
- Any timing notes (example: urgent medication)
We strongly encourage everyone to avoid unnecessary travel and use extra caution around steps, decks, ramps, and road edges.
